Charity Livery Strikes Chord With Wall

Battling Mount Panorama in the McGrath Foundation colours will be an inspiration to Wilson Security Racing driver David Wall, who is facing his own personal battles off track.

The one-off livery, in honour of the McGrath Foundation’s mission to provide support to Australian families experiencing breast cancer, will be debuted at this weekend’s 50th year celebrations of the iconic Bathurst 1000.

Wilson Security Racing’s friendship with the McGrath Foundation is particular relevant to Wall at the moment as two of his close family members battle cancer.

He says he is proud to be driving fresh conversation around the importance of breast awareness and the invaluable role McGrath Breast Care Nurses play in providing support to families experiencing breast cancer.

This is the fourth Wilson Security / McGrath Foundation livery and, as before, a line of merchandise will be available for purchase with proceeds going to the charity.

Wall and endurance co-driver Chris Pither will be on track from 10.40am this Thursday (October 4).

“Cancer is quite prominent in my family with two of my closest family members fighting it at the moment. It’s also prominent in my family history as well so the McGrath Foundation is very close to our hearts.

“The support the organisation gets is an inspiration. You see it on everything from a bottle of water to a cricket match. When you see it all around the place it gives you confidence that you’ve found what you’re looking for. When they’re helping people in difficult situations, it gives them strength and confidence in what they do so I’m very proud to be helping with that.

“It’s an amazing cause that has helped a lot of people through tough times. I was first part of it in 2009 and, when the opportunity came up to run a dedicated livery again, I was very enthused about it all.”

Foundation Ambassador and Director

“We’re incredibly proud of our friendship with Wilson Security Racing which spans more than three years.

“To see flashes of hot pink around the track featuring our logo makes us so proud and the team at Wilson Security Racing, including the drivers and crew, have really embraced our cause and become a huge part of our family.

“We wish David, Chris and the entire Wilson Security Racing Team all the best for the Bathurst 1000 – as we say at the McGrath Foundation, together we can make a difference!”
