Kiwi Chris Pither will join Wilson Security GRM for the 2015 Pirtek Enduro Cup pairing with David Wall in the #34 Volvo S60.

Pither, who is currently competing in the Dunlop Series with MW Motorsport, was given his first taste of the Volvo equipment subbing for the injured Wall at Albert Park in the non-Championship Australian Grand Prix support races.

The pair previously drove together at Brad Jones Racing, where Pither has spent the previous three years as a co-driver.

“I’m really excited to be joining the Volvo Wilson Security GRM team for the enduros,” Pither told v8supercars.com.au.

“Obviously I got a bit of a taste for it at the AGP and it was the first time in the car that weekend, and that gave me an insight into how they operate and what the cars are like – so I’m pretty excited and grateful for the opportunity.

“I get along well with David, we’re a similar size so there are a lot of good things about the partnership. I guess we’d be looking for a reasonable finish – we want to aim high.”

Pither’s signing completes the team’s line-up and with Alexandre Premat already confirmed to once again pair with Scott McLaughlin, it ends Greg Ritter’s nine year run with the team.

“It was a difficult choice with Pither as we had been approached and were talking to several other eligible drivers including Greg Ritter who done a great job here over many years,” said team owner Garry Rogers.

“In the end with the intensity of the endurance races it is more important than ever to have drivers who are competing in current high level racing.”
