Erebus Motorsport has announced Tim Slade will leave the team at the end of the 2013 V8 Supercars Championship.

Slade is expected to link up with Walkinshaw Racing from 2014 replacing Russell Ingall in the Supercheap Auto Racing entry.

Erebus CEO Ryan Maddison admitted he had hoped to retain Slade, but was unable to strike a new deal.

“When entering V8 Supercars this year, Erebus Motorsport took on a number of pre-existing contracts from the previous ownership,”
said Maddison.

“We’ve always been aware that it was going to take time to shape the organisation in line with the long term brand vision of Erebus Motorsport.

“Despite some robust negotiations, we weren’t able to reach agreement with Tim, he has been open and professional throughout the entire process, which is exactly what we expect from anyone involved with Erebus Motorsport,” Maddison added.

“The motivation of our crew is higher than ever and each team member wants to come to the end of this year with the strongest possible results.”

Erebus Motorsport says it has already been approached by a number of high profile drivers within V8 Supercars about the vacant seat.

It’s understood James Rosenburg, owner of the #47 Racing Entitlements Contract will stay on at Erebus Motorsport, ending a three-year partnership with Slade.
