Prodrive Racing Australia has released a teaser video showcasing its new FG X V8 Supercar ahead of its 2015 Championship debut.

With Ford announcing its withdrawal from the sport at the end of 2015 and ending production of the Falcon which has for so long formed the basis of the manufacturers involvement in V8 Supercars, the FG X will be the final Falcon iteration raced by the team.

The FG X V8 Supercar which was put through initial aerodynamic test runs at Ford’s You Yangs proving ground near Geelong earlier this month will now take part in V8 Supercars’ homologation testing in January against the benchmark Falcon FG  and Holden Commodore VF and and latest Nissan Altima L33.

Ford Performance Racing will field four cars next year, but is expected to start the new season with two FG X models (to be piloted by Mark Winterbottom and Chaz Mostert) and two FG-spec Falcons which are scheduled to be upgraded for the subsequent Albert Park and Symmons Plains rounds.

Before making its race debut in the Clipsal 500, the FG X will feature at the V8 SuperTest at Sydney Motorsport Park on February 7-8.

The 2015 livery is expected to be revealed ahead of the official test weekend.
