Stability is key at Nissan Motorsport with Dean Fiore and Taz Douglas confirmed to once again drive alongside Michael Caruso and James Moffat for the upcoming Endurance season.
2015 marks the third straight year that Douglas and Moffat have teamed up with their partnership claiming a second place on the last corner of a thrilling Bathurst 1000.
“The team is one of the hardest working bunch of guys I’ve ever come across,” said Douglas, “And it was great to reward them with the podium at Bathurst last year. That was my first V8 podium, and to achieve that at the biggest race of the year was something that I will never forget.”
Years of hard work was also rewarded with a podium at the Gold Coast 600 for Fiore. A main game regular for more than four years, he stepped down to an endurance only role, and brings a wealth of experience to the operation.
“Michael was keen to lock me in, and I was only too happy to get the deal done. It feels natural to be part of the squad – I feel like I’ve been racing with these guys for years and years,” Fiore said.
“The podium last year wasn’t much of a surprise. We had genuine speed at Sandown and Bathurst, but had some things not go our way. When everything went to plan of Sunday [Gold Coast 600], it was great to get the podium and easily the highlight of my V8 career.”
Both drivers are at Barbagallo Raceway this weekend, gaining valuable laps during the sixty minute practice sessions on Friday.
